Henry Cope was born in New York City. He studied at The Educational Alliance and The Art Students League. He continued his studies with Lisa Specht (a pupil of Robert Brackman) at her studio in Port Jervis, New York.

He has been a resident of Florida for the past 26 years and had extensive local exhibits as well as his own studio and gallery in
the Towles Court Artist Colony in downtown Sarasota, Florida. At the present time he works at his studio in his home in Sarasota.

He'll be moving to North Carolina in late Spring of 2006 where he will live and work on his art. He has chosen the still life as
the form he can best use to express those aspects of painting that he values most. Still life affords him the opportunity to think in the language of color.

His work is currently on display in the the gallery of Skip and Illene Dyrda located in the Towles Court Arts District in Sarasota, Florida. Hank's work can be viewed in the gallery and here on his web site. Prices available upon request.
